BONIFACIO: ISANG SARSWELA depicts the heroism of Andres Bonifacio; the founding of the Katipunan; the battles he fought; the internal conflicts between the Magdiwangs and Magdalos; and the betrayal by his fellow Katipuneros; and eventually his death.

It tells the story of Bonifacio as it should be told: Bonifacio not only as a strong-willed hero but as a man who feels pain.

BONIFACIO: ISANG SARSWELA also includes the stories of other important political figures during the Philippine Revolution, such as Emilio Aguinaldo, Emilio Jacinto, Gregoria de Jesus, and Macario Sakay, and their pivotal roles in changing the course of Philippine history.

Tañada and JM Encinas play the title role, alongside Cindy Liper (Gregoria de Jesus), Jordan Ladra and Kevin Posadas (Emilio Aguinaldo), Monique Azerreda and Adelle Ibarrientos-Lim (Hilaria Aguinaldo), Patrick Adrian Libao (Emilio Jacinto), and Chin Ortega (Macario Sakay).

The stage play features costume design by Emy Tañada, lighting design by Art Gabrentina, and set design by Jeff Ambrosio.
