After years of working with artists such as Rachael Yamagata, Amadeus Leopold, The Trans Siberian Orchestra, Peter Cincotti, and countless others, Or Matias is gathering friends to join him in performing his original music for the first time in NYC. Guest artists will include Chloe Lowery (Yanni, The Trans Siberian Orchestra), Phillipa Soo, Catherine Brookman, and Luke Holloway (all members of the recent hit pop-opera Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812).

The show will feature all original material, including selections from Or's upcoming musical, "The Wave". Based on a true story, The Wave reads as follows:

In 1967, a history teacher in Palo Alto turned an entire high school into a proto-fascist movement in just five days. While trying to demonstrate the national mentality in Germany during WWII, Ron Jones conduced an experiment which was to show how community and discipline can create something that is bigger than the individual, often with disastrous effects. He called it 'The Wave.'

The concert is tonight, September 15, 2014. Tickets to the show are $12 in advance and $17 at the door, and can be found here: http://joespub.publictheater.org/reserve/index.aspx?performanceNumber=25770.

Or is equally passionate about classical, blues, pop, hip-hop, and jazz, and honed his training at Juilliard and then NYU. He has toured everywhere from New Zealand to Atlanta, often playing delta blues jams and classical recitals in the same week. His songwriting and passion for storytelling has fueled his love for the theater, where he recently served as music director and conductor of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812.
