The Metromaniacs at St. Mark's Players

Welcome to The Metromaniacs by David Ives -- a modern rendition of a hilarious French comedy. In 18th-century Paris, poets were the rock stars of the day, and young people like main character Damis have gone “métromanie” - aka, crazy for poetry. Damis has a serious case of verse-mania, so much so that he falls in love with his favorite poetess, all without knowing....well, you'll have to see the show to learn the surprise! 

This witty show then turns into a series of complications, plot twists, and mistaken identities that The Washington Post called "a marvel of old and new, with punchlines that glisten with classical flair and contemporary savvy."
