DC Jazz Festival Set To Take Over The Wharf This Summer

The DC Jazz Festival (DCJF), hosts of the only city-wide jazz celebration in the mid-Atlantic region, proudly announces an extraordinary set of artists for its' DC JazzFest presented by Events DC finale weekend. DC JazzFest at The Wharf performances run Saturday, June 20 thru Sunday, June 21 and include four featured stages, three free stages, and one ticketed indoor stage, all on the beautiful riverfront grounds of The Wharf, DC's hottest new dining & entertainment hub. 
BST Opens HENRY THE FIFTH, The Final Production In Their King's Shadow Repertory

The final chapter of The King's Shadow is about to begin. Henry the Fifth, opening March 14, 2020, completes the first season in Brave Spirits Theatre's two-year project to stage Shakespeare's eight history plays about the Wars of the Roses. During a tumultuous period of less than a hundred years, England experienced civil war and political upheaval as the throne switched hands nine times. Shakespeare dramatized these events over the course of his career in eight remarkable plays: Richard the Second, Henry the Fourth Part 1, Henry the Fourth Part 2, Henry the Fifth, Henry the Sixth Part 1, Henry the Sixth Part 2, Henry the Sixth Part 3, and Richard the Third. Brave Spirits Theatre is making history by becoming the first professional American theatre company to mount full productions of Shakespeare's two tetralogies and perform them in repertory.

Director Holly Twyford again joins forces with actor Naomi Jacobson to bring to life the story of renowned sex therapist and media personality Dr. Ruth Westheimer. Becoming Dr. Ruth runs March 27 - April 19, 2020, with press invited to Opening Night on Tuesday, March 31 at 7:30.

In 2002, while Placido Domingo was serving as Washington National Opera's (WNO) artistic director, he created an apprentice artist development program for the company, the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program. WNO respects and acknowledges Mr. Domingo's singular artistic legacy and contribution to the opera field and to WNO. Mr. Domingo stepped down from his post at WNO in 2011 and has not been active with the company or its apprentice artist program in the years since.
