The Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra is on its very first United States tour, and KCP Presents will bring the 80-piece orchestra to Lyndon Institute on February 13th at 7pm. The show will be the first time since 1979 that an entire symphony has performed locally.

Cyrille Aimee's Sondheim Adventure began in 2013, when she was invited to participate in a tribute concert for the Broadway legend at New York's City Center, co-starring with Bernadette Peters and backed by Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Her show-stealing performance was widely praised, but the most memorable compliment came from the composer himself. 'You made me cry,' Sondheim told Aimee backstage after opening night. 'That was pretty powerful,' Aimee recalls with a touch of understatement.

Step Afrika! the first professional dance company in the world dedicated to the tradition of stepping is coming to Stowe, Wednesday, February 6 at 7pm. Step Afrika! draws on percussive dance styles that grew out of African American communities, African traditional dance, and influences from a variety of other dance and art forms. The company incorporates movement, words, and sounds to communicate allegiance, with a special focus on teamwork and cross-cultural understanding. Though rooted in raw movement, Step Afrika's award-winning performances are much more than dance shows; they integrate songs, storytelling, humor, and audience participation in a blend of technique and agility that's guaranteed to drop more than a few jaws.

Applications are now available for Swift Creek Mill Theatre's 2019 Summer Theatre Camps. Two levels are available: Exploratory Camp for beginning theatre students and Performance Camp for students with some stage experience. Students may participate in both levels in one summer. Campers learn hands-on 21st Century Skills by engaging in dramatic and technical activities and producing and starring in their own show. Creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking are just a few of the skills youth learn as they practice performing arts onstage and behind the scenes.
