Vertigo Mystery Theatre Closes Stewart Lemoine's EVELYN STRANGE, 4/4
Vertigo Mystery Theatre will close the production of Evelyn Strange by Edmonton's award winning playwright Stewart Lemoine, in The Playhouse at The Vertigo Theatre Centre in Calgary on April 4.
Perry Spangler, an unlikely hero, is sent to escort his boss' wife to her luxury box at the Metropolitan Opera. A beautiful but distant woman, who calls herself Evelyn Strange, wanders in. Possessing only a case of amnesia and a mysterious notebook, it's up to this Strange and Spangler to find out just who she is and how she ended up watching a performance of Wagner's Siegfried in the first place.
Evelyn Strange, a seductive Hitchcock inspired theatrical tour-de-force is a mystery-packed adventure through the intrigue filled publishing and high society world of 1950's New York. An unexpected trip from the Metropolitan Opera to offices, apartments, and hotels of Manhattan is made even more complicated after Strange is implicated in a murder.
"... one terrifically entertaining evening of theatre."
