Hart House Theatre Presents EQUUS 11/12-27
Equus, written by the Tony Award winning playwright Peter Shaffer, is the powerful, provocative and utterly jarring story of a psychiatrist who seeks to understand the sexual and religious mystery which leads a boy to blind six horses. This modern masterpiece is an equally disturbing and inspiring examination of personal values and morality in the face of commonly accepted social prejudices.
Recently re-popularized in London's West End and on Broadway, in a production starring Daniel Radcliff, Equus finally receives a long-awaited revival in Toronto at Hart House directed by Elenna Mosoff (for Hart House Theatre: Reefer-Madness: The Musical, The Rocky Horror Show, Godspell). Ms. Mosoff returns to Hart House stage after completing her MFA in Directing at Ohio University and working professionally in the UK and in New York City.
