Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS has two new charity auctions up on eBay, offering theater fans the chance to do things they normally could not!

Maureen McGovern, who is currently delighting audiences with her moving portrayal of Marmee in the new Broadway musical Little Women, will lend her 'Stradivarious Voice' to a worthy cause in ONE ENCHANTED EVENING, a special, one-night-only benefit concert for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Nothing Like A Dame 2005, presented by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, has raised a total of $300,000 for the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative of The Actors' Fund of America. This year, that amount includes a generous $50,000 gift of support from an anonymous donor. Nothing Like A Dame, an evening of performances from the leading ladies of Broadway, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year; the annual event has raised over $1,600,000 since 1995. Last year's Nothing Like A Dame raised $250,000.

NOTHING LIKE A DAME on March 14 benefitted The Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative of The Actors' Fund of America.

An evening of brand new songs, hosted at the Zipper Theater, from composers both recognized and emerging, performed by a group of young and talented actors to raise money for AIDS relief.

On April 4th, 2005, Bennigan's New York Restaurant will be joining the Broadway Community in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The BROADWAY BASH at BENNIGAN'S will be the first in a series of parties being sponsored by Troy Davidson and Bennigan's Restaurant, celebrating Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the New York Theatre community.

Hosted by Rob Evan, some of Broadway's brightest stars will perform the music of up and coming composer Neil Berg.

Paper Mill Playhouse will present the musical The Baker¹s Wife with Book by Joseph Stein and Music & Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell) based on the film 'La Femme du Boulanger.'

The Duplex Cabaret Theatre welcomes Broadway and Cabaret performer Christiane Noll to their stage for a one-night-only concert event on Monday, March 7th @ 7pm.

Carolines on Broadway, America's Premier Comedy Nightclub, will bring the traditionally 'dark' Monday nights when most Broadway productions are closed to showcase the very best of Broadway with the very best of Carolines comedy. The new monthly show, 'Broadway Laughs,' kicks off in grand fashion on Monday, March 7th, with a special performance by Richard Kind, who currently stars in 'The Producers.' The show will be hosted by funnyman Kevin Meaney, and will feature stand-up performances by comedians Russ Meneve ('The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' 'Comedy Central Presents…') and Greer Barnes ('Chappelle's Show'), as well as performances by Broadway stars Matt Stokes ('The Boy from Oz,' 'The Full Monty') and Stephanie D'Abruzzo (original and current cast member of 'Avenue Q').

Broadway lovers and teddy bear collectors came together on Sunday, February 23 at the BROADWAY BEARS VIII auction, which raised a grand total of $116, 817!

As the effort continues in the fight against AIDS, members from the touring cast of “The Phantom of the Opera” are hosting a gala event, “Detroit Concert for a Cure,” at the Gem Theatre on Monday, March 14 (7 p.m.). “The Phantom of the Opera” cast members (who can also be seen March 2-27 at the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit) will perform some of their favorite songs as well as Broadway favorites. Special guests and celebrities from Broadway, Detroit’s Cast of “Menopause the Musical(TM)”, The Macombers Show Choir, Oakland University and local high school students will join the Cast of “The Phantom of the Opera.” Tickets are now on sale and all proceeds from the evening’s event (tickets and silent auction) will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA).

Broadway singer Glenn Rainey of Disney's Beauty and the Beast will perform classic R&B hits on December 13th, 2004 in an original show called 'Blue-Eyed Soul' at the Triad theatre on West 72nd Street at 9:15pm. This special one night only event will be a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
