Mahogany, the legendary character conceived, written, and performed by Michael Benjamin Washington, returns to Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street) on Monday, February, 28 (9:30 p.m.). Back by popular demand, the "Ebony Enchantress" will celebrate her birthday by reflecting on her life, loves and career through the songs of the great black divas of our time.

MAHOGANY: REFLECTIONS ON VANITY will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Mahogany is proud to have raised over $13,000 to date for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Matthew Morrison is slated to make a special appearance.

BIOGRAPHIES
MAHOGANY
made her New York stage debut as The Summer Bride in the Actors' Fund of America's concert staging of Funny Girl in 2002.   She later went on to be the Head Choir Mistress for The Cadillac Winter Garden High School for Performing and Visual Arts Show Choir at several Gypsy of the Year and Easter Bonnet competitions (Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS).   She has appeared three times at Joe's Pub with her solo show, MAHOGANY:  REFLECTIONS ON VANITY.  

Michael Benjamin Washington is currently receiving critical acclaim on Broadway as Jacob in La Cage aux Folles.  Liz Smith recently wrote of Washington's performance, "I haven't been so love-struck by an actor in years.  He is, hands down, the funniest person in this entire beloved and endearing show."  Washington has been privileged to work for the Roundabout, Second Stage, The Public Theater, The Vineyard, Dallas Theater Center, Barrington Stage and The Kennedy Center.  He originated the role of Eddie in the Broadway production of Mamma Mia! and Ted in Stephen Sondheim's Saturday Night.  He created the role of Darius Myles on Fox's "The Jury" and has appeared on "All My Children", "Walker, Texas Ranger" and numerous commercials.  BFA: New York University.
