On Wednesday night, James Corden stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about his upcoming gig hosting the 73rd Annual Tony Awards on Sunday, June 9. During the interview, Corden talks about the pressures of hosting the Tonys, including the expectation of a big musical opening number, which he promises to they're going to try and do.

Before the big ceremony, however, Moulin Rouge stars Karen Olivo, Aaron Tveit and Danny Burstein will co-host the pre-telecast Creative Arts Awards.

It's been almost four decades since Dorothy Michaels first won the hearts of audiences in movie theatres. A lot has changed since 1982, and David Yazbek, Robert Horn and Scott Ellis, the creators of the 11-time Tony nominated Tootsie, had a lot of work to do in reinventing the iconic character for the modern era. They rose to the occasion.

The Tony Awards are this coming Sunday and, of course, that is all anyone in the industry is talking about. One topic is the new Tony voting system. As we wrote about this fall, Tony Award Productions is using a new system in which a person marks her/his attendance, and the date of that attendance, on the Tony Voter Portal. If the voter does not mark her/his attendance to a certain show, then that person is blocked from voting in a category that show has received a nomination. Except there are issues that have come up as we get closer to the end of voting.

It's been over five decades since the first time that 2019 Tony nominee Fionnula Flanagan first graced a Broadway stage. The star of The Ferryman (nominated for nine Tony Awards) made her debut in 1968's Lovers. Now she's back on the stage eight times a week at the the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, where she is giving the performance of a lifetime as Aunt Maggie Far Away.

Just last night, Broadway gathered to celebrate the Theatre World Awards at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street), home of the sensational Broadway hit, The Cher Show.

The underworld is moving to 6th Avenue this Sunday, making Radio City Music Hall Patrick Page's domain. The star of Hadestown earned his first Tony nomination this year for his performance as the titular 'bad guy', though Page sees him as much more than that.
