Jeff Norton Awards 2012 Set for the Palladium Theater, 8/20

The Jeff Norton Awards celebrate the best of professional theatre in Tampa Bay. The second annual Jeff Norton Awards will be held August 20, 2012 at the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg. Awards will be presented to audience favorites in the categories of Outstanding Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Director, Lighting/Sound Designer, Costume Designer, and Set Designer.

Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project presents its 'Annual Night Of Alternative Theatre' with A WIZARD OF OZ, August 6, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. The show stars Matt McGee, Joey Panek, Betty Jane Parks, Drew Decaro and more, with special guest musical accompanist Michael Rabbe. The script is adapted by T. Scott Wooten, and all proceeds benefit Metropolitan Charities and ASAP HIV/AIDS programs. American Stage Theatre is located at 163 3rd St. North, downtown St. Petersburg.
Broadway Theatre Project Announces 2012 Festival Schedule

Broadway Theatre Project President and Artistic Director Debra McWaters announced today that on July 27th and July 28th the University of South Florida will host this year's Festival featuring four performances, including an intimate benefit concert from the legendary Ben Vereen.
Sarasota Opera Announces Casting for the 2012 – 2013 Season

The 2012 fall season will include the Sarasota Youth Opera world premiere of LITTLE NEMO IN SLUMBERLAND. The 2013 Winter Festival will feature three Sarasota Opera premieres: Puccini's TURANDOT; Verdi's A KING FOR A DAY (Un giorno di regno); and Carlisle Floyd's OF MICE AND MEN.

Performances are at 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 including facility fee for adults and $10 including facility fee for students. The Broadway Theatre Project has announced that actor, conductor, music director and vocal arranger David Loud will teach young performers aspiring to be on Broadway, at this year's summer intensive program. This summer, David Loud has asked to work with 12 of the Broadway Theatre Project's best singers in a workshop setting. He will also do a Q&A and teach master classes to all of the students.

He has toured with Cher, Julio Iglesias, Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett, among others. In addition, he's released three DVDs and six CDs, with his second CD, "Out of Bounds," earning him a Grammy nomination. His latest CD, "I'm on the Boat, Woman and Children First," is on its way to becoming a number one best seller.
