Our design faculty brings extensive professional experience and training in scene, lighting, sound, and costume design including specialties in mask-making, welding, CAD design and much more.
As a member of numerous national theatre organizations, including USITT, SETC, TCG and AATE, the School of Theatre offers a rigorous theoretical and practical education, along with valuable opportunities to network with theatre professionals and showcase their own work. Theatre students enjoy continuous opportunities to meet, learn from and engage with leading industry professionals and guest artists. A range of workshops, master classes, presentations and class visits keep our students abreast of the latest developments and techniques across the industry and further enhance their prospects for a wide range of careers.
Our students graduate well-equipped to embrace and create opportunities in performance and production in theatre, film and television – as actors, writers, directors, stage managers, designers, sound engineers, and more. Other students harness their passion for performance and learning to become teachers across all education levels, preparing the next generations of young artists, performers and producers.
The School of Theatre is committed to creating and nurturing a diverse, engaged, artistically well-balanced body of future Theatre professionals, performers and teachers. Our mission is to nurture our students’ dreams, enhance their talents, and help them to turn passion into purpose, on and off the stage.
