From the creative team behind Fiddler on the Roof, this delightful musical tells the story of Georg and Amalia, bickering co-workers at a Budapest perfume store who have no idea that each is the other's romantic pen pal. Based on a play that became both the Jimmy Stewart movie The Shop Around the Corner and the '90s classic You've Got Mail, She Loves Me is a charming romantic comedy about idealism and the promise of true love, guaranteed to lift your spirits and leave you grinning. Ring ring, it's life on the line. An unsuspecting woman becomes deeply involved in the hilarious wiles of a stranger's life. His phone won't stop ringing (and he's not exactly able to answer) so she picks up the phone down the proverbial rabbit hole she goes. Sarah Ruhl penned the romantic comedy that Peter Amster will direct. The show will run in the Cook Theatre through March 8, with a pay-what-you-can (minimum $5, day of performance) preview night on February 18.

South Bay Musical Theatre (SBMT) is pleased the announce the full cast and creative team for the Company's first 2020 production, the charming musical comedy SHE LOVES ME. Described by The New York Times as “a bonbon of a musical” and a “tasty tale of love lost and found at the workplace,” the original Broadway production of SHE LOVES ME was nominated for five 1964 Tony Awards; the show has since enjoyed two successful Broadway revivals, in 1993 (Winner, Tony Award “Best Revival of a Musical”) and 2016. SHE LOVES ME features a book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. It is based on the play Parfumerie by Miklós László (which has also served as the basis for the films The Shop Around the Corner, In the Good Old Summertime and You've Got Mail).
