As BroadwayWorld reported earlier, last night, September 13, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' launched its first ever LNJF Broadway Week. The week will showcase all the biggest hits the Great White Way has to offer, from pounding punk rock to 60s swing. Each night this week, Jimmy will welcome a different Broadway musical to the Late Night studios.

Last night, May 23, the Drama Desk Association hosted the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone hosted the ceremony, which honored the best of Broadway and off in the 2009-2010 season. BroadwayWorld.com provided LIVE coverage on the site throughout the ceremony.

The colorful Gypsy Robe, embellished with mementos from Broadway musicals, is presented to the cast member who has the most Broadway chorus credits. Recent Gypsy Robe honoree, BYE BYE BIRDIEs' Paula Leggett Chase passed the special Broadway garment on to John Jellison backstage before the opening night performance and BroadwayWorld.com was there to cheer him on!

To commemorate the Shubert Theatre Box Office opening for the new Broadway musical MEMPHIS there was festive special performances by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan, the Cast of MEMPHIS, and VH1 Save the Music Foundation student keyboard ensemble from Jersey City's MS 41. on Wednesday, August 26th at 12pm in Shubert Alley.
