First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed the Broadway cast of Hamilton to the White House today to host a student workshop, Q&A, and a performance of musical selections from the production. The 'Rannells' pamphlet! In late October, Andrew Rannells officially took the throne as King George III on Broadway in Hamilton. Rannells will abscond the throne after today, making way for Jonathan Groff- who originated the role on Broadway- to rise up and take over the kingship on December 1.

On Monday, November 9, 2015, the New-York Historical Society presented Ron Chernow and Lin-Manuel Miranda with the distinguished 2015 History Makers Award during its annual History Makers Gala at Cipriani Wall Street.  The event featured a conversation with the honorees moderated by Charlie Rose and a special tribute to Richard Gilder, Trustee and Chairman Emeritus of the New-York Historical Society. More than 700 people were in attendance.

Today, Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, The Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin, NYC Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Fariña and Gilder Lehrman executive director Lesley Herrmann announced an educational partnership to provide 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see Hamilton on Broadway and integrate the show into classroom studies. This educational initiative is made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation to Gilder Lehrman.

The Hamilton cast album has been out in the world for a bit, and the company of the hit musical just celebrated. On Friday, October 16, Lin-Manuel Miranda took audience questions and was then joined by cast members to sign the original Broadway cast recording at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th Street).
