InterAct Theatre Company to Host 'June-A-Palooza' A Festival of Readings and Performances From All Over Philly

This June, InterAct Theatre Company will present a month of new work in collaboration with theatres from around Philadelphia for what they are calling JUNE-A-PALOOZA. It will be a celebratory festival of dynamic readings, celebrations, and workshops highlighting new work from InterAct and more than a dozen other area artists and companies.

Master classes are great learning experiences. At SUNY Orange these programs are offered in several disciplines: visual art, music, poetry, theatre, communication, dance, and biology/botany. From 11am to 1pm on Friday, April 20, 2018, The Chris Parker Band will present a music master class - The Elements of Jazz… Putting It All Together. This is an opportunity to meet five jazz musicians who live music and have figured out ways of making a living at it.

Since making his Broadway debut in 1959, The Sound of Music (A Novica Rebelde) has become a singular phenomenon. No other show has achieved such a lasting trajectory of success as one of this musical, inspired by the true love story between a young novice and a widowed captain, father of seven. After winning eight Tony Awards, the stage production generate the five-time Oscar©-winning film (1965) - including Best Picture - and settled forever into the affective memory of generations to come. A new version of this classic is in theaters from March 28 at Teatro Renault, directed by Charles Moeller and Claudio Botelho.

Back by popular demand, Ammunition Theatre Company is proud to be reviving its wildly successful production by playwright D.G. Watson, THE TRAGEDY: A COMEDY. Acclaimed director Ahmed Best will be at the helm. The unique comic play once a month at THE PICO - 10508 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064. The show will play monthly (one Thursday of each month). Following upon the special concert by Musica Viva NY on Sunday, April 8 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4, 1968, the Lifelines Center and the Peace and Justice Task Force of All Souls invite you to join us for a very special performance of the dramatic and musical adaptation of Calvin Alexander Ramsey's children's book, 'The Last Mule at Gee's Bend' on Tuesday, April 17. The tour setting up shop in Central Florida is billed as 'RIVERDANCE- The 20th Anniversary World Tour,' and retains much of the original show's choreography, along with 'updated' design elements and a new number for the female ensemble.

'The Wizard of Oz: A Jazz Musical for All Ages,' presented by Harlem Repertory Theater (HRT) and Yip Harburg Foundation, will not close January 13. It has been extended through June 16, 2018 due to continuing and steady audience interest. The production has played since October 8, 2016 at Tato Laviera Theatre, 240 East 123rd Street (near 2nd Ave.), Manhattan, and has previously been extended four times.
