On his first new album in seven years, GRAMMY Award-winning conguero Poncho Sanchez celebrates the life and music of the iconic saxophonist John Coltrane. Due out September 20, 2019 via Concord Picante, Trane's Delight is a love letter from one musical pioneer to another, as the Latin Jazz legend pays homage to one of his earliest and most indelible influences. TheaterWorksUSA and Martian Entertainment have just announce that The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, the original musical adaption of Rick Riordan's New York Times best-selling novel, will arrive on Broadway this fall for a strictly limited 16-week holiday engagement at the Longacre Theatre (220 W. 48th Street) following the recent successful conclusion of its 32-city North American First National Tour which has been celebrated by audiences and critics alike.

Nashville singer-songwriter Kelly Hoppenjans has announced her debut LP, OK, I Feel Better Now, set to release October 18, 2019. Produced by Brandy Zdan, the 10-song set combines the spirit of riot grrrl tinged with folky introspection while asserting a need to break the cycle of society's gendered expectations. Today, Hoppenjans shared a music video for the album's lead single “Growing My Hair,” which can be viewed below. Of the track, she offers, 'The inspiration for this song is partly face value--I really do grow my hair and cut it all off every couple of years. But I've noticed differences in how the world relates to me when my hair is different lengths and colors and the expectations society has for the way a woman's hair/body/makeup/etc should look.' 

Final casting has been announced for the Turbine Theatre's inaugural production, Torch Song. Alongside the previously announced Matthew Needham (Arnold), Daisy Boulton (Laurel), Dino Fetscher (Ed) and Rish Shah (Alan), are Jay Lycurgo (David) and Bernice Stegers (Ma).

BroadwayWorld has learned that Jeremy O. Harris' SLAVE PLAY will come to Broadway this fall. The production, directed by Robert O'Hara, begin previews on Sept. 10, 2019 and run through Jan. 20, 2020.
