Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, begins Season XIII: Celebrating the Extraordinary with Eugène Ionesco’s The Chairs. Directed by Quintessence’s Artistic Director Alexander Burns, The Chairs, full of absurdist philosophy, witty wordplay and slapstick comedy runs through October 23. Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of Emma Rice’s critically acclaimed Wuthering Heights, a reimagined version of Emily Brontë’s gothic masterpiece. The musical stage production is conceived and directed by Saheem Ali, music and lyrics by Michael Thurber, and written by Jocelyn Bioh. Previews begin Saturday, August 13, and the show runs through Sunday, September 25.

TexARTS Theatre presents The Full Monty the blue-collar musical that exposes the spirit and determination of six out-of-work steelworkers. Desperate for money and respect, they come up with a novel way to make a quick buck by starting a striptease act.

Joshua Henry will head the cast of Brave New World: The Musical (as World Controller Thomas Mond) for an invitation-only industry reading on May 23rd in Midtown Manhattan. Joining Henry will be Solea Pfeiffer, Ephraim Sykes, and more.

Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Productions is set to partner with Concord Theatricals and Skydance TV for a new limited series based on Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. Rachel Shukert, who recently created the Babysitter's Club on Netflix, will adapt the musical for television. The project is the first in a deal between Lopez, Skydance, and Concord.
