If a bear does cocaine in the woods, does anyone hear him? Inspired by a movie which was inspired by a true story, Cocaine Bear: The Opera is a story about what happens when a bear ingests cocaine, and everyone sings about it. The notes are high and so is the bear.

Jackalope Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team for the Chicago premiere of The Smuggler, February 16 – March 16, by Ronán Noone, directed by Gus Menary.

All Things Equal – The Life and Trials of Ruth Bader Ginsburg is coming to the Fisher Theatre. Get ready for an inspiring and thought-provoking show about the iconic Supreme Court Justice.

Destinos, 6th Chicago International Latino Theater Festival, Chicago’s annual citywide festival showcasing Latino theater artists and companies from Chicago, the U.S. and Latin America opens this Thursday, September 28 and runs through November 12, 2023.

On Friday, April 21st, I had the pleasure of seeing CABARET at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT.  This highly thought provoking play has book by Joe Masteroff, and songs written by John Kander with lyrics by Frank Ebb.  Even though it was written in 1966, it addresses concepts that are relevant in the modern day, like how we may be unaware of the serious injustices going on across the world, until they directly impact us or someone we know. It also shows how people who believe that politics is irrelevant to their own personal lives do not become immune to the consequences of the wrong people rising to power.  Most importantly, it shows the lethal results of a society that rejects moral absolutes and lets the shifting sands of feelings and emotionally manipulative propaganda define its sense of reality, right, and wrong.  

The 2023-24 season is Jobsite's 25th year of bringing the Tampa Bay area exciting, engaging live theater experiences between the Jaeb Theater and Shimberg Playhouse as the Straz Center's official resident theater company.

After a nationwide search, Metropolis’ Board of Directors has announced acclaimed theatre artist Brendan Ragan as the company’s new Artistic Director. Ragan is the founding Co-Artistic Director of the award-winning Urbanite Theatre, a Florida-based company known regionally for producing bold, inventive new works.

Mark Subias, UTA partner and head of theater, has announced his exit from the agency. Subias will take a newly created job at production company Smuggler.

The Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival, the only festival of its kind devoted to producing and presenting the theatrical work of contemporary Irish playwrights from around the world, returns to a mostly in-person format in its upcoming 15th annual edition.  

Irish Repertory Theatre has announced two productions to begin its 2023 season. Irish Rep will present Endgame by Samuel Beckett January 25-March 12, 2023, on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage, with an opening night set for February 2, 2023.

'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,' the highly anticipated new land inside Disney's Hollywood Studios, opened in late August, inviting guests to live their own Star Wars adventures as they explore a remote planet full of unique sights, sounds, smells, tastes and other immersive experiences.

In anticipation of high guest interest, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products announced today it will open Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge ahead of schedule at Disneyland Park in California on May 31 and at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on Aug. 29.
