International Contemporary Ensemble Releases AFTERWORD: AN OPERA IN TWO ACTS By George Lewis on Friday, October 6, 2023 on New Focus Recordings/TUNDRA.

This intimate documentary chronicles the life and legacy of Stan Brock, a British-born Amazonian cowboy turned U.S. TV star who dedicated his life to bringing free healthcare to people in need - changing hearts, minds, and laws in the process. Offering access to Brock’s life and work, the documentary was directed by Paul Michael Angell.

The Emelin Theatre will present Nutcracker Dream, performed by Ballet des Amériques, Westchester’s premier professional dance company. Inspired by the work of Rudolf Nureyev and Marius Petipa, this 90-minute family-friendly adaptation is an exquisite interpretation of the beloved holiday classic.  Learn more about the performance here!

The show also debuted the brand new soundtrack for the series featuring previously unreleased song, “The Queens” by Paola Iezzi who, together with Paolo Camilli, Chiara Francini and Drag Queen Priscilla make up the judging panel for this season. The song was written by Paola Iezzi and Johannes Willinder.

Joining conductor Gil Rose and his intrepid ensemble the Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP) are three virtuosos: pianist Marc-André Hamelin in Piano Concerto (Homage to Beethoven) (1986), bassoonist Adrian Morejon in Red Maple (2013) (co-commissioned by BMOP), and flutist Carol Wincenc in Rising (2010) and Flute Concerto (1989).
