Complete casting has been announced for the Canadian production of the multi Tony Award-winning musical. Performances begin March 5, 2019 at Toronto's historic Royal Alexandra Theatre.

As a powerful teaser for their new album 'Black Light White Dark', due out in early 2019, London's ethereal alt-rock outfit Evi Vine presents 'Sabbath' featuring The Cure's Simon Gallup on bass and Peter Yates of Fields of the Nephilim on guitar.

The Athena Film Festival (AFF) at Barnard College announced today its film slate, including opening night, closing night, and centerpiece films, as well as additional programming for the 2019 festival. The ninth annual festival, co-founded by the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College and Women and Hollywood, will take place February 28 to March 3, 2019, at Barnard College in New York City. AFF showcases films, television and content that tell the extraordinary stories of fierce and fearless female leaders from all walks of life. Stories of ambition, courage, and resilience amplify the voices of strong, bold women, curating a public discourse on gender equality, and changing the cultural conventions surrounding leadership.

On Sunday January 6th, The Marvelous Wonderettes, currently playing Off-Broadway at Theatre Row, will take its final bow after 567 performances. The final cast includes Kristen Alderson (Emmy Winner, One Life to Live) as Cindy Lou, Michelle Dowdy (Broadway's Hairspray) as Betty Jean, Amy Hillner Larsen (First National and RCCL Hairspray) as Suzy , Maggie McDowell (Broadway's Disaster and Kinky Boots) as Missy, and Amy Toporek in her Off-Bway debut as the 'Wonderstudy'.

Walnut Street Theatre's 2018-19 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with the wacky holiday musical revue, WINTER WONDERETTES. Directed by Richard Parison, the production begins with previews on November 13th, opens November 15th, and continues through December 30th.

Ethereal alt-rock outfit Evi Vine presents 'Sabbath', a sweet and heavy preview of their long-awaited long-play 'Black Light White Dark', due out in early 2019 on vinyl and CD, as well as digitally. This powerhouse track features Evi Vine's gossamer vocals and precise orchestration, cleverly woven together with bass guitar by Simon Gallup of The Cureand guitar by Peter Yates of Fields of the Nephilim.

BroadwayCon announces that the Tony Award-winning Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has joined the BroadwayCon 2019 MainStage lineup. The panel will feature cast members from the hit show. Additional details will be announced at a later date. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child joins Mean Girls, Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song, Be More Chill, Come From Away, The Prom, and Pretty Woman as part of MainStage programming.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is pleased to announce the recipients of the second and third rounds of the 2018 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards. The awards, totaling $1,114,000 allow 27 productions extra time for the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, hoping to extend the life of the world premiere play after its first run.

The new Broadway comedy The Prom has announced that a limited number of $40 general rush tickets (including the $2 facility fee) will be available at the Longacre Theatre box office (220 West 48th Street) when it opens for that day's performance(s) beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Limited to two tickets per person, tickets are subject to availability. Cast and major credit cards are accepted.

Transgender teen advocate Jazz Jennings opens up about her most intimate journey yet in the fifth season of TLC's groundbreaking series I AM JAZZ, which returns on Tuesday, January 1 in a special timeslot at 10/9c. The show will move to its normal timeslot beginning Tuesday, January 22 at 9/8c.

The third season of EMIT (Educational Mobile Immersive Theatre) commences with the interactive TIME OF YOUR LIFE performance and fundraiser on Sunday October 21st and Sunday October 28th, at 6PM at Solas Bar. EMIT is a young company that uses immersive theatre to create educational experiences for learners of all kinds.

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director), recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award in 2016, launches its 80th milestone season with The Color Purple, directed by Tony Award-winner John Doyle. The Color Purple is the Tony Award-winning musical revival based upon the novel written by Alice Walker and the Warner Bros./Amblin Entertainment motion picture with a book by Marsha Norman and music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray.
