Three Brothers Theatre Announces Cast For REASON FOR RETURN Image

Three Brothers Theatre is pleased to announce casting for Reason for Return by DC Cathro, the first play from the Three Brothers Playwright Residency Program.

The cast features Hannah Shepherd, Janet Sussman, Kevin Blair, and Michael May.

Gail and her teenage daughter, Abby, are struggling to keep things stitched together. A terrible tragedy has struck their community resulting in, of all things, the high school prom being cancelled. For Gail's dress shop this could be the end of their life as they know it. Reason for Return is a stunning portrait of AnyTown in America dealing with one of the most difficult issues of our generation.

Director Kyle David Perry comments: "This is a play about choices (however seemingly harmless) causing profound, widespread suffering; showing that one person's actions can damage a community on every level, from the populace, to the family, to each individual."

The Three Brothers Theatre Playwrights Residency Program consists of thirteen selected playwrights whose individual works will each be produced through 2020.

About the playwright: DC Cathro is a Chicago-based playwright, actor, and director from the Washington DC metropolitan area. His musical "Till," written with award-winning composer Leo Schwartz, is one of three winners in the 2016 Main Street Musicals Festival, selected by Gregory Mosher. In 2014, he became the only playwright to have two shows in the Pride Films and Plays Festival in Chicago, IL; "Pen, A Musical" (also written with Schwartz) and "Family Holiday." DC's works have been read at theatres and festivals across the U.S., including The William Inge Festival in Independence, Kansas, The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and Greenhouse Ensemble Theatre in New York City.

Reason for Return opens March 22 at 7:30 pm and closes Saturday April 13. The show runs every Friday and Saturday. General admission tickets are $20. Three Brothers Theatre also offers student/industry/senior/military tickets for $15. Presale tickets can be purchased at threebrotherstheatre.com.
