(CRI) digital re-release of Harry Partch's The Bewitched (1955) with new artwork by New York photographer Reuben Radding and a commissioned essay by Marc Sabat, paired with a newly commissioned composition, Taylor Brook's Block (2022), on New World Records .

Fresh from the West End production of Moulin Rouge The Musical, West End leading lady and singing sensation Zoe Birkett will play Spirit Of The Ring alongside EastEnders’ Beppe Di Marco, Michael Greco as Abanazar. Joining them is CBeebies favourite Ben Cajee in the title role of Aladdin, returning favourites Tam Ryan as Wishee Washee and Ian Adams as Widow Twankey, Duane Gooden as the Genie, Ian Billings as the Notary and introducing Wolverhampton’s own Sofie Anné as Princess Jasmine.

The Public Theater has announced complete casting for the world premiere of PLAYS FOR THE PLAGUE YEAR, written by and featuring Pulitzer Prize winner and Public Theater Writer-in-Residence Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Bessie Award winner Niegel Smith. 

Celebrated singer and songwriter Peabo Bryson, two time Rock and Roll inductee Graham Nash, dance companies Pilobolus and Flamenco Vivo, and Broadway stars Megan Hilty, Mandy Gonzalez and Javier Muñoz are just a few of the artists set to appear at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts at Pepperdine University during its 2022–2023 season. 

Wayne Brady, Jordin Sparks, and more will be joined by a Real Housewife, a Bachelorette and a drag queen superstar, and more in season 31 of Dancing With the Stars. The Finborough Theatre's new digital initiative #FinboroughFrontier continues with a unique rediscovery from Ukraine – an online premiere reading from leading Soviet-Ukrainian playwright Oleksii Kolomiiets, written in 1965, premiering FREE-TO-VIEW on the Finborough YouTube channel on Monday, 12 September at 6.00pm, and concurrently with subtitles on Scenesaver.

Undertow Overflow is a brand new collaboration between multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Amy Duncan and writer/director Ben Harrison. It combines their love of simple narratives with a strong emotional undertow. The title of the show comes from a joining of the title of Amy's album Undercurrents with Ben's short story collection Overflow. 

As summer comes to a close, many regional theaters are preparing to get their new seasons started - for many, this season still carries with it a lot of risk - some of the shows in their season are still shows they had intended to do at some point during the pandemic, and segments of the audience are still hesitant to return to their seats.

ELLA: An American Miracle, a new musical written by Anna Deavere Smith (Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 and Notes From The Field) and featuring music from the Ella Fitzgerald songbook, is currently in development, with an upcoming work session held from August 25-September 21 to conclude with a private industry presentation.

Rubicon Theatre Company will present the third production of its 2022-2023 Season with ALMOST, MAINE, written by JOHN CARIANI and directed by STEPHANIE A. COLTRIN.  ALMOST, MAINE begins previews on Wednesday, September 7; opens on Saturday, September 10 at 7 p.m.; and runs through Sunday, September 25.
