This week marks a very important event for DC area arts education. On June thirteenth, The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts (TTL) held its very first class and co-founders Deb Gottesman, Buzz Mauro and Michael Rodgers never looked back. The organization has changed locations a few times over the years but the quality of the work that Theatre Lab’s instructors and administration have given to hundreds and hundreds of students has always remained at the top of its game.

The New-York Historical Society will present the 2022 History Makers Award to opera superstar, arts innovator, and civic leader Anthony Roth Costanzo for his achievements in the performing arts and for his activism. Broadwayworld recently had the pleasure of visiting Jaz, the new Indian restaurant located in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood on 9th Avenue between 53rd and 54th Streets just a few blocks from the theatre district.  We also had the opportunity to interview Jaz Rupall, the owner and namesake of Jaz.

On May 20 post-punk band Savage Republic will release their new album Meteora in North America via Mobilization Recordings. Today the band is pleased to share the official video for 'Nothing At All,' the latest track to be lifted from their upcoming release.
