Arizona Broadway Theatre presents Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Step into The Enchanted world of Broadway's timeless family favorite, Beauty and The Beast, LIVE on the ABT stage. With expansive sets, brilliant costumes and a tremendous cast of characters, this "tale as old as time" tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. All of the fanciful characters, such as a talking tightly-wound clock (the butler), adorable tea cup (a young boy) and kindhearted candelabra (maitre d') are trapped in this spellbound form. If the Beast can learn to love, and be loved in return, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Onstage June 2 - July 2, 2017. (more...)

BWW Review: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at Atlanta Lyric Theatre

The live-action remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast that opened in March of this year has made over $1 billion at the box office so far. That's nine zeros, which easily makes the film the highest earning movie musical of all time. And if all those gold coins in the studio coffers are any indication, there's something about this story that keeps us coming back. That something - let's call it the promise of a world where deep and meaningful connectedness between two lovers is built on important things like mutual interests and selflessness - is on full display at Atlanta Lyric Theatre in Robert Adams' production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which boasts a stellar cast as well as a buffet of delightful magic. She later finds herself trapped in The Enchanted castle of a cold-hearted prince who had been magically transformed into a hideous beast as punishment for his selfish ways. Yuliya Solntseva's Ukrainian Trilogy Receives North American Premiere

Museum of the Moving Image will host one of the most exciting film events of the year: a presentation of an epic trilogy of films directed by Yuliya Solntseva, two of which will be shown in their spectacularly colorful, original 70mm formats. This marks the first time that all three films have been screened together in North America. Solntseva is the first female director to win Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival, a feat not repeated until Sofia Coppola won the same award for Beguiled this year.
