It may have been underestimated how popular TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS would prove to be when it opened at The Public's Shiva Theater last November. Actor/playwright Nia Vardalos' warm, funny and endearing adaptation of the same-named book of collected advice columns written for the literary website The Rumpus by Cheryl Strayed, under the pen name Sugar, packed fans into the 100-seat space, making the quietly emotional play one of the town's hottest tickets. Ivoryton Playhouse Announces Holiday Show

The Ivoryton Playhouse Holiday show opens on December 7th and runs until December 17th. It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry was inspired by the classic American film by Frank Capra, It's a Wonderful Life. This production is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. Five actors perform The Dozens of characters in the radio play as well as produce the sound effects. Multi-Region Arts Festival Returns For 4th Summer

For the fourth consecutive year, the English Language Arts Network (ELAN) celebrates Arts Alive! Quebec, a province-wide cultural festival featuring Quebec artists in six different regions, with performances and activities for the whole family from June through September. The six regions are Hudson, Huntingdon, Knowlton, Quebec City, Wakefield and the West Island/Montreal. Letters of ongoing support were instrumental in the series' return. (more...)

Agile Rabbit Productions has announced casting and creatives for the world premiere original new comedy, THE MASCOT. Written by Jerry Hickey, the production is helmed by esteemed director (and KU professor) Peter Zazalli. Kansas City favorite Sam Cordes assumes the title role and is joined by Emma Carter, Coleman Crenshaw, Jen Mays, Matt Rapport, and Hollis Wilhoit, along with Alisa Lynn, Jake Gillespie, and Matthew Michael. BWW Review: SWEENEY TODD at Connecticut Repertory Theatre

The orchestra begins to play a quiet, foreboding melody as the cast takes the stage inviting the audience to "Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd", soon with a signature factory whistle the man himself, malicious, glaring and exuding an air of evil appears center stage. Thus begins what, for many, is an unlikely favorite musical, Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's SWEENEY TODD. And, thus also begins Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT)'s current production of the hit musical. From that point on, though, all bets are off as the next 2 hours are filled with a performance that is fresh, exciting,  and downright chilling, and is certainly something not to be missed. More Time for Tickets! TKTS Lincoln Center Will Now Stay Open 7 Days a Week

 TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, announces that due to popular demand their indoor TKTS Lincoln Center discount booth located at the Zucker Box Office in Lincoln Center's David Rubenstein Atrium (61 West 62nd Street between Broadway and Columbus Avenue), will now be open seven days a week starting Monday, February 5. Additionally, theatre lovers will have more opportunities to purchase tickets to matinee performances at this location. Matinee performance tickets will now be available on the day of the performance in addition to the day prior to the performance.  (Currently, the booth was only open Tuesday - Sunday and matinee tickets were sold only on the day before performance). So, as of Monday, February 5, TKTS Lincoln Center patrons may purchase tickets to same-day matinee and evening and next-day matinee performances at discounts of up to 50% off for Broadway, Off Broadway and Lincoln Center performances. BWW Exclusive: Sutton Foster & Hugh Bonneville Join Mormon Tabernacle Choir for Magnificent Christmas Concert

Two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster and television and film star Hugh Bonneville were the special guests at this year's magnificent Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert. The performances were presented free of charge as a gift to the community Thursday, Dec. 14 through Saturday, Dec. 16 at the impressive 21,000-seat Conference Center. The concert will air nationwide on PBS and BYUtv during the 2018 holiday season, and a DVD and album will also be released.
