The Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation (LAEF) is deeply saddened by the passing of Stanley Crouch, who served as President of LAEF from 2010 – 2020. The 74-year old author, journalist, critic, playwright, poet and NEA Jazz Master died Wednesday, September 16, in the Bronx, New York, following a long illness. A private family service will be held October 26, followed by a public celebration of life at a later date.

All scheduled productions have either been cancelled or postponed indefinitely, with no re-start date in sight. However, the company's Producing Artistic Director and CEO Marcie Gorman and Director Jonathan Van Dyke have come up with an innovative way to provide audiences with theatre, and the company's first production Maltby and Shire's Closer Than Ever will debut on November 27th and be available for On Demand streaming through December 31st.
