Bill Kenwright's production of the international smash hit musical Blood Brothers continues into Spring 2020 from 4 February 2020 at Theatre Royal, Brighton. This iconic musical has been visiting theatres across the country throughout 2019, performing to sell-out houses and receiving standing ovations.

The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, announced nominations today for its 47th Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year's best in the field of animation. 

On November 17, 2019, InterSchool Orchestras of New York and the Mingus Dynasty collaborated to present MINGUS at Long Island University Kumble Theater in Brooklyn, NY.  This concert featured never-before-heard full orchestra arrangements of popular Mingus tunes arranged by Earl McIntyre.  It also featured Renée Manning and solo performances by the Mingus Dynasty.

Prolific theatrical songwriter Micheal Friedman died at age 41 from AIDS related complications in 2017, leaving many bereft as the theater community recognized his vibrant creativity was snuffed out too soon. To preserve his legacy and work, Ghostlight Records is partnering with The Civilians to record nine albums of Friedman's previously unrecorded music for THE MICHAEL FRIEDMAN COLLECTION. This past October, the first trio of albums was released.

The Christmas season gets off to an uproarious start with Theatre for Young America's production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The show runs from November 23rd through December 28th, 2019 at City Stage in Union Station Kansas City. Union Station is located at 30 W. Pershing Road in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Winter Celebration concert features the four levels of orchestras in InterSchool Orchestras of New York including Morningside, Carnegie Hill, Concert Orchestra and the ISO Symphony, conducted by Dr. Matt Rotjan, Steve Rochen, Joseph Meyers, and Barry Stern respectively. The ISO Symphony will be joined on stage by Renée Manning and members of Mingus Dynasty, providing a snapshot of ISO's dynamic season and showcasing the achievement of the students.

The Marblehead School of Ballet and the North Shore Civic Ballet announce Florence C. Whipple of Marblehead, Massachusetts celebrated recently her 100th birthday on October 29. Whipple had an extensive career at the Marblehead School of Ballet (MSB) leading the Creative Dance division for several years and co-founding the North Shore Civic Ballet (NSCB), a nonprofit dance company providing performances and arts education in the Greater Boston community. Upon her retirement from the school and the dance company, she was named an Emerita member of the MSB's faculty and Emerita Associate Director of the NSCB.

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Michael Stotts- Managing Director), recipient of the Tony Award for Regional Theatre, has joined forces with the Cranford, New Jersey based non-profit Shining Stars Network to co-produce a performance featuring young artists with disabilities entitled 'An Evening of Shining Stars.'

The Big Easy Award-winning theatre company, See 'Em On Stage ('Lizzie'-Best Musical 2016), presents CABARET (1998 Version) with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb and book by Joe Masteroff. 'Cabaret' is based on the true stories of Christopher Isherwood which he documented in his book 'Goodbye to Berlin'. 'Cabaret' made its Broadway debut in 1966 before becoming a 1972 Oscar-winning movie starring Liza Minnelli. In 1998, 'Cabaret' returned to Broadway in the Tony Award-winning production starring Alan Cumming. This production uses the script and score from that version.

The Abbey Theatre shares its deep regret today at the loss of a man of many talents - poet, author, Aosdána member, former Cavan goalkeeper and beloved playwright Tom MacIntyre.

Original Broadway cast members Julie Reiber (Come From Away), Horace V. Rogers (Tarzan), Caren Lyn Tackett (High Fidelity) will complete the cast, joining the previously announced Eden Espinosa (RENT, Wicked) as Brooklyn, Karen Olivo (Moulin Rouge, In the Heights) as Faith, and stage star Ramona Keller (The Public Theatre's Hercules, City Center's Little Shop of Horrors) as Paradice. When the late Stephen Jeffreys' award-winning comedy Valued Friends opened at the Hampstead Theatre in 1989, one or two critics, suspicious of its brilliant structure and well-crafted narrative, declared it a?oesafea?? and a?oeold-fashioned' - by which they meant that the London fringe, or alternative, theatre had gone soft.

The Missoula Community Theatre (MCT) proudly presents the new musical, Disney's Freaky Friday, Oct. 24-Nov. 3 at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts. When a story is genuinely compelling, it contains the power to be retold in many different ways, and to speak across generations. Such is the case with Disney's Freaky Friday, which has entertained families since the original 1972 Mary Rodgers book was released and subsequently produced into two successful movies. 

On Saturday, September 28, the legendary Steve Miller Band and Jimmie Vaughan Band will perform a special concert celebrating rock and roll as one of the most important artistic movements of the 20th century.

Verdi's beloved opera Aida opens San Diego Opera's 2019-2020 season in an entirely new theatrical performance utilizing set elements, costumes, lighting, and featuring the San Diego Symphony and San Diego Opera chorus onstage, alongside some of the greatest interpreters of Verdi's music performing today. Aida opens on October 19, 2019 for four performances. Additional performances are October 22, 25, and 27 (matinee), 2019.
