Eisemann Center Presents Riders In The Sky with The Quebe Sisters in Christmas the Cowboy Way at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 7:30 pm in the Hill Performance Hall. 42 years ago, Ranger Doug, Too Slim and the late Windy Bill Collins played that first date on the bitter cold evening of November 11th, 1977 at Herr Harry's Frank N' Stein Rathskeller in Nashville, and small listening room dates followed. By August of the following year demand was building, and while Windy Bill left, Woody Paul joined, and the true professional beginnings of the band began at the Kentucky State Fair, where the trio played 10 days for $2500 and bought their own rooms and meals out of that!

The show is made possible through the generosity of Wayne and Rachelle Prim. Since the beginning of his career, Koz has been all about dodging expectations and traditions. His brand-new holiday album, Gifts of the Season, is his seventh holiday release, and features the very same guests with him on this year's Christmas tour.

Today, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of American rock group, The Frogs, founding member Jimmy Flemion has announced their upcoming winter U.S. tour. Performing their prolific discography, the tour will include sounds spanning decades of iconic songs that have set the tone for rock today. The tour will include seven dates across the west coast including one in Canada. Today the band also announces that Evan Dando of The Lemonheads will join Jimmy Flemion on drums for the entire tour. This will be the first tour since the passing of the late Dennis Flemion. Dates are listed below.

Westport Country Playhouse's Family Festivities Series will present a?oePeter Pan,a?? produced by TheaterWorksUSA, on Sunday, December 8, at 1 and 4 p.m. The production is based on John Caird and Trevor Nunn's 1982 adaptation, originally developed for London's Royal Shakespeare Company, based on the original play by J.M. Barrie. Performances are approximately one-hour in length, and appropriate for ages three and up. Tickets are $20 each.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, the 1982 stage musical borne of the 1954 film treatment based on a story by Stephen Vincent Benet, doesn't hold up as well in 2019 as many classic musical theater titles a?" what with its sexist storyline, ersatz score that longs to remind us of something by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and its meandering plot a?" but make no mistake about it: The production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, now onstage through this weekend at Smyrna's Springhouse Theatre Company is mighty entertaining, thanks to Paula K. Parker's talented cast who bring the show to life with vigor and commitment.

First recorded in 1969, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT with music and lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, finally opened Off-Broadway in November 1981 and then moved to The Great White Way in January 1982 where the production received six Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, Book and Score. This ever-popular musical based on the a?oeCoat of Many Colorsa?? story from the Bible's Book of Genesis failed to win even one Tony, but has gone on to be one of the most popular, family-friendly stories with actors of all ages involved in the big-scale production performed around the world. Now being presented as the 40th production by The Aerospace Players, directed by John Woodcock and Angela Asch (who also choreographed the show), the dedicated (and all volunteer) cast features stand-out performances by many in the leading roles who make the story as fun to watch as it is entertaining.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. Tony-nominated Broadway actor Jeremy Jordan will star as Neil Bogart in the upcoming film Spinning Gold, a film written and to be directed by Timothy Scott Bogart, son of the late musical idolmaker who ran Casablanca Records and died in 1982 of cancer and lymphoma at age 39.
