In her first season as the new artistic director at Opera Theatre of St. Louis (OTSL), Patricia Racette has programmed a festival season that holds something for everyone. & JULIET on Broadway has announced a series of special events, including a $20 lottery, fan nights, and a sing-along performance hosted by *NSYNC's Joey Fatone at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

The Muny announced the principal cast for HAIRSPRAY, opening its 108th season at Forest Park. Katy Geraghty and Richard Kind lead the production, which marks the show's return to the St. Louis stage for the first time since 2015.

& Juliet is a jukebox musical that premiered in Manchester in 2019 before opening in London’s West End later that year. Created by writer David West Read, with a score made up of pop hits by Max Martin, it reimagines Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet through a modern, feminist lens. The show later transferred to Broadway in 2022.

& JULIET will play the Broadway in Birmingham series at BJCC Concert Hall. The North American tour features songs by Max Martin. The musical reimagines Juliet’s story.

GALA Theatre continues its Golden Season with a contemporary staging of the modern classic La casa de Bernarda Alba (The House of Bernarda Alba) by Spanish playwright Federico García Lorca. Directed by José Zayas and with original music by Koki Lortkipanidze, the play runs at GALA February 5 through March 1, 2026, and explores themes of female oppression, sexual repression, and the conflict between tradition and modernity, all universal topics that resonate with audiences today.

South Coast Repertory will open 2026 with a rotating repertory of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton.
