PlayGround has announced the programming lineup for the 4th annual INNOVATORS SHOWCASE, featuring new works by the 2022 Innovator Incubator Cohort: Analog Theatre, The Chikahan Company, City Street Artists, Juneteenth Theatre Justice Project, Latinx Mafia, Native Writers' Theater, Poltergeist Theatre Project, Oakland Public Theater and Theatre Cultura.

 'Fun and Games' begins as a woman brings a man home after meeting him at a bar. Minutes later, another man arrives at the door who had been pursuing her at the bar.

The Ensemble Company, now in their fourth year in residence at Penguin Point Productions located within the Oviedo Mall, will continue its season with Aaron Posner’s Stupid F***ing Bird, “sort of adapted from The Seagull by Anton Chekhov.”  The production will mark the Central Florida debut of the piece, which premiered at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in 2013.

Necessary Digression in collaboration with Torn Page and The Martin E. Segal Center for Theatre Research as well as Colgate University will present two English Language premieres of celebrated Argentinian playwright Romina Paula, FAUNA (September 16 - October 1, 2022), translated by April Sweeney & Brenda Werth, directed by April Sweeney, and THE WHOLE OF TIME (October 21 - November 13, 2022), translated by Jean Graham-Jones and directed by Tony Torn. 

The New Group has announced complete casting and dates for the company’s 2022-23 Season opener: Evanston Salt Costs Climbing, by Will Arbery and directed by Danya Taymor. The New York premiere of this play about climate and change will feature Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Jeb Kreager, Ken Leung, and Rachel Sachnoff.

Soho Rep will present Montag, written by Kate Tarker, directed by Dustin Wills and with original opera music by Daniel Schlosberg. The world premiere production of Montag runs October 12–November 13 at Soho Rep.

Playwrights Horizons will present Mia Chung’s Catch as Catch Can, directed by Daniel Aukin, running October 14 - November 20 and opening November 1.

Ochre House Theater will open its 2022-23 season with a new and biting comedy,  ST. ELLA, written and directed by Artistic Director Matthew Posey. The production will run at The Ochre House Theater, 825 Exposition Ave, Dallas, TX  75226, from September 7 to September 24, 2022.

Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Rebecca Gilman will mark her 10th production at Goodman Theatre, her longtime creative home, with Swing State—directed by Tony Award-winner Robert Falls in their 6th collaboration over 35 years. Swing State appears October 7 – November 13 in the 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre.

New titles include Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return,” “Remembering,” “Dancing with the Stars: The Pros’ Most Memorable Dances,” “Tierra Incógnita,” the “Frozen” and “Frozen 2” Sing-Alongs, and “Welcome to the Club,” a new short from The Simpsons.

Nothing I can write will truly describe the brilliance of this stand-up show. There simply isn't enough hyperbole. 

The Jamie Lloyd Company's production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, in a version by Anya Reiss directed by Jamie Lloyd has entered its final three weeks of performances, running until 10 September at Harold Pinter Theatre.

Vineyard Theatre has announced the company’s upcoming 40th Anniversary Season which will include three world-premiere productions. Kicking off the season will be David Cale’s Sandra, which reunites Cale and director Leigh Silverman following the acclaimed Harry Clarke, which premiered at the Vineyard in 2017.

Crow's Theatre is launching the 2022.23 Season with A Month In The Country, a two-play excursion that beautifully reveals the lure of country living with its aching secrets, glorious seductions, and epic nature.

For their 2022 acting showcase, LAMTA offered audiences a very clever DOUBLE BILL. In the first half of the evening, we saw Anton Chekov’s classic THE SEAGULL. After interval, we were treated to STUPID F@CKING BIRD – a parody of the former written by Aaron Posner. I honestly had such a laugh throughout both one-act plays.

Theatre for a New Audience has announced its 2022-23 season, its 43rd, held at TFANA’s home, Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Brooklyn.
