Next week, 54 Below will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. A recipient of the 2022 Tony Awards® Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present the return of Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf – the acclaimed cellist celebrating her recent album Music of Broadway for Cello and Piano – on Monday, September 19 at 8:30 PM.

i am a slow tide, a performance and media collective founded by director Gus Heagerty, is  presenting the world premiere of The Gold Room by Jacob Perkins, which marks the playwright’s professional debut. Starring Scott Parkinson and Robert Stanton, The Gold Room is an acerbic, mind-bending fall into the genesis of queer identity.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced casting for the world premiere production of the ripple, the wave that carried me home by Christina Anderson, directed by Jackson Gay, and produced in association with Goodman Theatre. 

Jonathan Groff will star as “Franklin” and Lindsay Mendez will star as “Mary” in Merrily We Roll Along at New York Theatre Workshop. Merrily We Roll Along features music & lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by George Furth. They join the previously announced Daniel Radcliffe, who will star as “Charley”.

For Taiwan Philharmonic's 2022-23 season, Music Director Jun Märkl cultivated programs focused on three main themes: natural scenery and geography, region (France), and composers (Felix Mendelssohn and Sergei Rachmaninoff). The season kicks off on September 16 at the National Concert Hall with a Scottish-centric program.

Berkshire Theatre Group has announced the 2022 fall season at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. Joining the already scheduled production of Edward Albee’s Seascape at The Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, there is something for everyone now in the fall line up including a national performing act, as well as local and regional bands.

NBC and the Television Academy announced jointly that Kenan Thompson will host the 74th Emmy® Awards. Kenan Thompson is an award-winning actor, comedian and producer, best known for his work on “Saturday Night Live.” This fall he will enter his 20th season on the iconic late-night series as the longest-running cast member. 

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the complete cast for the world premiere of You Will Get Sick, a new play by Noah Diaz directed by Tony Award nominee Sam Pinkleton. The cast includes Marinda Anderson, Daniel K. Isaac, Linda Lavin, Nate Miller, and Dario Ladani Sanchez all of whom are making their Roundabout Theatre Company debuts.

Broadway favorite Betsy Wolfe will headline The New York Pops Underground cabaret performance on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 54 Below, performing selections from Waitress, The Last 5 Years, and her new Broadway show, & Juliet.

“One Big Party” was written with co-writer Fabio Ingratta, who Honey met at a songwriters’ meeting she hosted. The song features Nashville's Will Kimbrough, Fats Kaplin, Danny Mitchell, Dean Marold, and GRAMMY-nominated producer and drummer Neilson Hubbard recorded live by Dylan Alldredge at Skinny Elephant Recording Studios in East Nashville.

Due to positive COVID test results within the company, Vineyard Theatre has cancelled performances of Lessons in Survival: 1971 through Sunday, June 12. Ticket holders for impacted performances (June 10-12) will be contacted by phone and email regarding rebooking and next steps.

The Kimmel Cultural Campus has announced that FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME founding member, producer, and Pulitzer Prize, Grammy®, Emmy®, and Tony Award® Winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In the Heights, Disney’s Encanto) will join the national tour of FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME as a special guest at the 8 p.m. performance on June 10, 2022.
