Spring is finally here and March is filled to bursting with some incredible shows.

Back in 2015, I caught a solo performance play Mutant Olive, created and performed by Mitch Hara. I decided to speak with him about his revamped play, Mutant Olive 2.0, soon to begin performance at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood, to ask about the new show, it’s title, and what’s been going on during the 8 years since Mutant Olive in its original form premiered.

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present the debut performance of “The Brat Pack” — featuring Broadway stars Kathryn Allison, Sam Gravitte, Luke Hawkins, and Jelani Remy – on Monday, March 13 at 7:00 PM.

Scott Coulter's Spot-On Entertainment has teamed up with 54 Below to return the Studio 54 Basement to the old days.

Award-winning playwright and actor Brian Copeland (Not a Genuine Black Man, The Waiting Period, The Scion, The Jewelry Box) will continue his extremely successful run of GRANDMA & ME at The Marsh San Francisco, extending performances for a fourth time due to popular demand. 

The Denver-based indie rock band Instant Empire is ecstatic to drop the release date of their album, Standing Eight Count. Standing Eight Count will be the band’s fourth LP. To celebrate the news, Instant Empire has shared their new single “Tiny Flashes,”the first single from their just-announced, upcoming fourth album Standing Eight Count.

III follows in the paw steps of their first two albums, once again being self-produced by the band—Richie Kotzen, Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan—and mixed by longtime band associate Jay Ruston. Even without radio airplay, videos for the first two songs to be released from the album—“Xanadu” and “Mad World, both directed by Vicente Cordero.

From February to March 2023, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) will present two concerts of the series, with all-time favourite film music by renowned Hollywood film music composer John Williams.

MasterVoices continues its eclectic 2022-23 season on March 23 at Central Synagogue with Ted Sperling leading O How Good, a performance of Jewish sacred music. The program includes two beloved works of traditional Jewish liturgy set by master composers – Ernest Bloch's Sacred Service and Kurt Weill's Kiddush – as well as the world premiere of And the Sun Goes Up, a new work by Israeli-American composer Daniel Rein, commissioned by MasterVoices.  

How do we find meaning in an upside-down world? What actions should we take? Do our efforts even matter? Meaningless presents the unedited, uncensored, ancient book of Ecclesiastes in a one-act, one-person performance packed with timeless riddles and timely wisdom. The show makes its New York City debut in a limited run from February 15-March 5 as part of the FRIGID Fringe Festival.

Jessica Vosk is a celebrated singer and actress and she has just kicked off her “MY GOLDEN AGE” US tour and will be visiting your area shortly! You may recognize her from Broadway roles like Elphaba in WICKED, or as the Narrator in JOSEPH... at Lincoln Center. I had the opportunity to catch up with her before the launch of this new concert tour.

Visceral Dance has announced its winter engagement featuring performances at Visceral's Ann Barzel Theater.

Chances are you may have been scrolling through Tik Tok or Instagram over the last two years and happened upon a video of two brothers performing fresh, fun and amazing Irish dance routines together. Those brothers, Michael and Matthew Gardiner are currently on tour with the 25th Anniversary tour of RIVERDANCE which will make a stop here in Orlando January 20th – 22nd. I had a chance to speak with the brothers to learn more about how they got started dancing, their newfound social media fame and their involvement in what has become a global phenomenon over the last 28 years.
