Madonna and Sickick have unleashed an alluring take on her 1998 classic “Frozen,” now dubbed “Frozen on Fire,” via Warner Records. Both Madonna and Sickick recorded fresh vocals for the track, which includes a brand-new verse, remaking the iconic single into an ecstatic trap collaboration.

The Pleasance Theatre Trust Presents the 2022 Edinburgh National Partnerships, a feast of new work from vibrant theatre makers and performers from across the UK at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe.  Shriver Hall Concert Series (SHCS) — Baltimore’s premier presenter of chamber music ensembles and solo recitalists — has rescheduled its concert featuring the two-time Grammy Award-winning Pacifica Quartet and soprano Karen Slack, to Sunday, June 19 at 5:30pm, due to Covid-related challenges (originally scheduled for May 15).

A Noise Within’s next production Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses will open May 14, 2022, with previews beginning May 8th. A re-envisioning of ancient Greek myths for a modern audience, Metamorphoses is set entirely in and around an on-stage swimming pool. ANW’s co-producing artistic director Julia Rodriguez-Elliott directs a cast of ten ANW resident artists who tackle over 85 roles in six myths: Alan Blumenfeld, DeJuan Christopher, Geoff Elliott, Rafael Goldstein, Nicole Javier, Kasey Mahaffy, Sydney A. Mason, Trisha Miller, Cassandra Marie Murphy and Erika Soto. Julia took some time from her multiple duties as Metamorphoses’ director and ANW’s co-producing artistic director to discuss Metamorphoses logistics, as well as her successful working relationship with co-producing artistic director husband Geoff Elliott.

Today, Strolling Bones Records releases Here Again: A Retrospective (1994-2002), a re-release of music by New Hampshire roots-rock band Say ZuZu. Strolling Bones founder George Fontaine Sr. originally tried to sign Say ZuZu in the 90s but the label deal fell through; with this retrospective, Strolling Bones is reintroducing the band and giving them a second shot.

Director Roberta Emerson has devised an intriguing way to approach the story's outer framework without altering the libretto. The story opens not with an unseen narrator recounting the enchantress's spell on a prideful prince and his servants but instead with a young Black girl (played sweetly by Gabriella Milchman) who opens a storybook in a modern-day bedroom and reads those words aloud from it, soon seeing herself in the story - just in time for the glorious opening notes of 'Belle'...
