The Community Foundation of Sarasota County recently granted $15,000, from the Martha Leiter and Nancy Streetman Fund II, to Choral Artists of Sarasota to help fund its March 2023 concert of “The Children's March,” a dramatic work that uses song and narration to tell the story of a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights era.

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center has announced its 2022 summer season, which features the return of some beloved in-person public events put on pause during the virtual and hybrid seasons of 2020 and 2021. 

Meet the complete cast for A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical, as rehearsals began in New York ahead of the musical's world premiere, pre-Broadway engagement this summer at Boston's Emerson Colonial Theatre.

The production features Emanuelle Araujo, in the role of sarcastic Velma Kelly; Paulo Szot, as  the charming and unscrupulous Billy Flynn (a role he currently played on Broadway); and Carol Costa as the “innocent” and surprising Roxie Hart. L. Candido (Mary Sunshine), Lilian Valeska (Mama Morton) and Eduardo Amir (Amos Hart) complete the main cast.

In March 2020, Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) opened the Canadian premiere of Sean Devine's Daisy, only to close it the very next day due to the pandemic. This December, the play will triumphantly return to the stage as the first show of GCTC's much anticipated 2021-22 season, and marks the theatre's return to in-person theatre after a 20-month hiatus.

PS CLASSICS has announced the release of All the Girls – the new album from Rebecca Luker and Sally Wilfert – on CD online and in stores today, Friday, March 5. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Paula Kelly, actress of stage and screen, has died. She was 76. Kelly made her Broadway debut as Mrs. Veloz in the 1964 musical Something More!, alongside Barbara Cook. Her other Broadway credits include The Dozens (1969), Paul Sills' Story Theatre (1971), Ovid's Metamorphoses (1971), and Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies (1981).

Charlie and the Chocolate factory” is big, extravagant and highly entertaining. The two leads, Peter Andreas Hjellnes (Charlie) and Fridtjof Sensæth Josefsen (Willy Wonka), carry the show splendidly on their shoulders. As a musical it has flaws, but the production 'almost' manages to conceal this through solid stage design, beautiful comstumes, solid direction and fun choreography.
