A panel of 12 journalists and digital media critics will select winners across 17 categories, while audiences can vote online for the Audience Choice Award. More than just a competition, the DID has become a celebration of Brazil’s vibrant musical theatre scene — closing the year with brilliance, humor, and emotion, and reaffirming the stage as a place of passion, creativity, and community.

After previous runs in 2022 and 2023, The Book Thief musical finally arrives in London. The Book Thief: A Concert Production was originally scheduled to be performed for one night only on 19 October, but two more performances have been added on 26 October due to popular demand. Recently, we had the chance to speak with Melanie La Barrie, who is playing the role of Death in this production of The Book Thief. West End actress Lara Denning will take over the role of Caz in the UK and Ireland tour of HERE & NOW. Rebecca Lock who currently plays Caz will leave the production on Sunday 9 November.

The Sicilian Vespers is always going to be a challenging proposition. In a move smacking of sheer hubris, Verdi’s original version lasted over four hours and featured half an hour of ballet partway through. Stefan Herheim's production for the Royal Ballet & Opera removes that dance sequence but transports the plot from Palermo to Paris with the Sicilian rebel leader Jean Procida now portrayed as a mutinous ballet master.
