Michael Luwoye - who has starred in the title role in the National Tour of Hamilton since it opened earlier this year in San Francisco, before transferring to the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles (through December 30) - will officially succeed for Javier Mu oz on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theater (226 W. 46 St.) on January 16, 2018, producer Jeffrey Seller announces.

BroadwayWorld announced yesterday that Michael Luwoye will be taking over the title role in Hamilton on Broadway beginning January 2018. Luwoye began his Hamilton journey as an alternate in the Broadway production on July 11, 2016, before going on to become the principal Hamilton on the Angelica tour, beginning March 10, 2017. Broadway is getting a new Hamilton this winter!

Tomorrow, December 7th, Museum of the City of New York will ceremonially unveil their newly restored historic nickel bronze statues of two legendary New Yorkers, Alexander Hamilton and Dewitt Clinton, designed three quarters of a century ago for the Museum by noted sculptor Adolph Alexander Weinman (1870-1952). For the occasion, the Museum will be joined by three stars of the immensely popular Broadway show, Hamilton: Jevon McFerrin, Lexi Lawson, and Anthony Lee Medina.
