Japan Society presents Part of the Okinawa in Focus series and the Globus Film Series, Visions of Okinawa: Cinematic Reflections. The screenings of these films are set for May 13th through June 3rd. In-theater screenings are set for May 13th through May 21st. Virtual screenings will run from May 14th through June 3rd. The curtain is about to rise on the Long Island premiere of the Tony award-winning stage musical, The Color Purple, opening May 21 for a four week run, courtesy of Nassau County's only professional theatre, Plaza Broadway Long Island at the Elmont Library Theatre.

The family of Jean-Michel Basquiat has announced the King Pleasure Emporium to open alongside the Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure© exhibition on the ground floor of RXR’s landmark Starrett-Lehigh building in West Chelsea. Contemporary arts center OZ Arts Nashville today announced it will present performances from acclaimed choreographer Ronald K. Brown and dance company EVIDENCE from February 10-12, 2022, in OZ Arts' expansive creative warehouse. The program will feature three original works by Brown titled Grace, Mercy and his latest piece titled The Equality of Night and Day: First Glimpse featuring text by Angela Davis and a score by Jason Moran.
