by BWW News Desk - Oct 25, 2018

Though the French public is more familiar with Chicago through the Rob Marshall movie of 2002, there has already been a French-language version at the Casino de Paris in 2004, but it actually came from Canada as part of an international tour.  Even before Stage Entertainment took over, that production was so successful that it was extended with a French cast taking over from the Canadians.  After the recent German production, Stage Entertainment could legitimately bring the show back to Paris.  After all, the spirit of Mr. Fosse had already entered the walls of Mogador Theatre since the international tour of Dancin' was transferred in 1981.    (more...)

BWW Review: OMG! LEGALLY BLONDE Is Back
by Don Grigware - Jun 18, 2018

OMG! You mean, like, Elle Woods isn't from the San Fernando Valley, but from Malibu? Wow! And- she not only attended college locally but got into Harvard Law School? May seem a bit far-fetched or too hard to swallow, but it doesn't matter, because once you've seen Elle in action, she's irresistible: a cross between Goldie Hawn, Glinda from Wicked and a splash of Mary Poppins thrown in for good measure. You're gonna love her, guys, in this grande spanking, freshly blossomed pink rosebud of a show. If you liked Reese Witherspoon, you will adore perky, gorgeous Callandra Olivia and everyone else in the fantastically sugar-coated romp Legally Blonde The Musical currently onstage at Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theatre. BWW Review: There's Only One BEN VEREEN: STEPPIN' OUT at The Catalina Bar & Grill
by Valerie-Jean Miller - Aug 20, 2018

'Razzle Dazzle 'Em' is what Ben does, innately; it's in his blood, it's in his soul. 'Steppin' Out' signifies going beyond what you have achieved thus far. Ben Vereen is an Evolved Entity that shares his evolutional journey with us, delightedly so... on both sides!! This past Saturday evening, I had the great pleasure to see Ben Vereen perform at the Catalina Bar & Grill. When I first heard where he would be, I wondered why he chose a Jazz Club. Now I know why. Ben Vereen not only has decades of hit Broadway Shows, TV Series, Nightclub Acts, Awards and Accolades to his repertoire, but from that he has still kept his initial joy and exuberance in performing, yet taken his showmanship to another level.
