Legendary rock band The Who have announced a brand new tour for 2022, THE WHO HITS BACK! The iconic band’s upcoming North American trek promises to be another rock n’ roll knockout, bringing singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist/songwriter Pete Townshend back to U.S. venues. In celebration of tomorrow’s anniversary of The Beatles’ final concert on the rooftop of their Apple Corps building in London, The Beatles™ LOVE™ by Cirque du Soleil shares a special tribute video featuring their own special rooftop performance. Filmed atop The Mirage Hotel & Casino, the vibrant video stars 27 LOVE cast members performing to “Get Back” (LOVE Version). Filming the once-in-a-lifetime performance required two drones and four cameras and was completed in just two and a half hours. Watch The Beatles LOVE cast’s rooftop performance video below. 

The Vancouver International Film Festival announced this year’s Black History Month programme, taking place at the VIFF Centre throughout February. Historical themes have always been incorporated into stage shows, from classic Broadway musicals to contemporary productions. Contrary to what some may believe, not all historical-themed productions are old Broadway musicals. Several historical musicals have gone on to become classics, though this is not specifically a golden age musicals list.

Naked Boys Singing! is a musical revue in the traditional style of American vaudeville, with book by Robert Schrock, that features eight actors who sing and dance naked. Directed by Rodrigo Alfer and with Portuguese versions by Rafael Oliveira, the iconic gay musical features André Lau, Aquiles, João Hespanholeto, Luan Carvalho, Lucas Cordeiro, Raphael Mota, Ruan Rairo, Silvano Vieira, Victor Barreto, Tiago Prates and Gabriel Fabri, on the piano.

The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble re-opens its re-envisioning of the Odyssey's 1969 West Coast premiere of The Serpent, the Obie award-winning play by Jean-Claude van Itallie. The production initially opened in March, 2020 as part of the Odyssey's 50th Anniversary “Circa '69” Season, but was shuttered five days later by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
