Seven Last Words from the Cross is James MacMillan's setting of the dying words of Jesus Christ. Commissioned in 1994 by the BBC, SE gave the premiere performance of the work on live television across the seven consecutive nights of Easter Week that year. More than two decades later SE revisits the piece in its 50th anniversary year in collaboration with another leading Scottish group, Dunedin Consort, in Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and London. The tour is supported by Resonate, a PRS Foundation initiative in partnership with Association of British Orchestras, BBC Radio 3 and Boltini Trust.

The Peggy Lee Estate today announced Peggy Lee 100, a centennial celebration honoring one of the 20th century's most important musical influences in the world of jazz and popular music.

Mabou Mines, the esteemed experimental theater company, and Weathervane Productions, in association with Philip Glass' Days and Nights Festival, add free documentary film screening and Promenade concert performance, and announce complete casting for a unique upcoming celebration of legendary playwright and director María Irene Fornés. The February 21-March 7 engagement centers on the New York premiere of Philip Glass' transformation of her five-page play Drowning into an opera and a version of Fornés' acclaimed Mud. JoAnne Akalaitis directs these two intimate productions-both with new music composed by Glass-at Mabou Mines (150 First Avenue).

On April 4th, The Museum at Bethel Woods, located at the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, will open for the 2020 season with the Special Exhibit Lights, Color, Fashion: Psychedelic Posters and Patterns of 1960s San Francisco. This exhibit showcases a phenomenal ensemble of San Francisco rock posters and fashion from the kaleidoscopic years of 1964 to 1972, gathered by collector Gary Westford.

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, as part of its 50th Anniversary season, presented a special York Legacy Concert of the 1969 Broadway musical Celebration, written by the revered songwriting team of Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones for two performances only on January 27th at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's.
