The Hyena Skits Sketch Show is not just a show, but a platform—a sketch comedy experience that uplifts, entertains, and leaves people howling with laughter.

Inspired by a 1924 drawing room comedy by Ferenc Molnar, The Angel Next Door was  originally commissioned by David Ellenstein for North Coast Rep and the Laguna Playhouse. Following its September 2023 premiere, the romp has gone on to delight theatergoers all over the country.

In 2023, TV-film actor Khalil Ramos contemplated whether to continue acting or quit after the pandemic. He felt the “shift” in the movie industry, especially in the local scene. For him, it was a dry season.

The curtain rises on Tina Turner (Jayna Elise) in her iconic red leather minidress and lioness mane about to ascend a set of stairs to a stadium of eager fans. For many, their first exposure to the “boy who refused to grow up” was through Walt Disney’s classic 1953 animated film. And in the role of Tiger Lily, Bailey Frankenberg has a front row seat to what makes this story so magical. I had the chance to catch up with Bailey and hear all about her career and what it is like to play an iconic (but updated) heroine as well as serve as Fight and Flight captain for the show.
