William Shakespeare's joyous and popular comedy Much Ado About Nothing will open at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, the professional theatre on the campus of DeSales University. The show previews July 13 and 14, opens July 15, and runs through August 7 in the Schubert Theatre at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts.

Walnut Creek's revitalized Festival Opera, led by General Director Zachary Gordin, continues its 31st season with an all-new production of Bellini's Norma, featuring acclaimed singer Shana Blake Hill (she/her) in the title role, directed by Mark Foehringer and conducted by Bryan Nies, with the Festival Opera Orchestra and Chorus.

Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) presents the first show of its reopening season, the Southern California premiere of TENDERLY: THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL opening October 7, 2021. Artistic Director Michael Unger today unveiled Skylight Music Theatre’s 2021-2022 season, which marks the theatre’s return to in-person performances after more than one year. It will be Unger’s first official season since joining Skylight in 2019, due to cancelled shows during the pandemic. 

In addition to the widely available standard 3-LP edition, a limited pressing on translucent vinyl with black and gold marble will be available exclusively via the official Madeleine Peyroux or Craft Recordings webstores (1,000 available worldwide).

The S.E.M. Ensemble, directed by Petr Kotik, will perform an in-person mini-tour across Brooklyn and Manhattan on May 16th, 19th and 20th. Since each concert will have limited seating in accordance with current COVID-19 guidelines, the ensemble will offer the same program three times to reach an audience similar to a single, pre-COVID concert.

Jacob’s Pillow has announced the full artist line-up for its 2021 summer Festival—the first to feature both onsite and online programming. Onsite events run June 30-August 29, with online streaming through September 23.

Center Theatre Group announced today that the 54th season at the Ahmanson Theatre will begin November 30, 2021, three months later than it was most recently scheduled and 20 months after the theatre closed in March of 2020.
