From the Great White Way to the Silver Screen, these artists have careers that span both the stage and screen. Today we are delving into the Broadway careers of six performers who are nominated for the 2021 Academy Awards.

In April, the BSO NOW concert streaming platform will launch the final two of four archival programs, featuring conductors who enjoyed especially close relationships with the orchestra. All four programs were originally produced and distributed by Boston public broadcaster GBH for the iconic Evening at Symphony television series.

In celebration of Stephen Sondheim’s 91st birthday, I’m continuing to compile a list of 18 Sondheim songs, one for each show he’s written!

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

Esoteric Recordings announced the release of a new expanded & remastered 2-disc edition of the classic debut solo album by YES vocalist JON ANDERSON, 'Olias of Sunhillow.' Since outdoor performance permits are not being given at this time, Theater for the New City has adapted its 2020 Street Theater tour to the virtual space. 

The Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, which for 36 years has presented summer chamber music concerts on Long Island's East End, will this year present Summer Festival at Home: five hour-long programs premiering on consecutive Sundays at 6:30 pm beginning July 26 on the BCMF YouTube channel and remaining available for one week.

Summer Street Theater is one of the delights of the season and has been central to Theater for the New City's mission since the organization's first such production in 1976.
