The National Theatre production of THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME is the Tony Award-winning new play by Simon Stephens, adapted from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel. Directed by Tony winner Marianne Elliott (War Horse and Curious Incident), the critically acclaimed production will come to Seattle for a one-week engagement from July 25-30 as part of a North American Tour.

Chisa Hutchinson Returns to Seattle with New Play KIN

Forward Flux Productions is thrilled to announce that Chisa Hutchinson will be the special guest playwright at The Flux Salon this summer. She will be workshopping her new play Kin with a local cast and the process will culminate in a one night only presentation on July 17th. The Salon event will start at 7pm with a rooftop reception with Chisa, and then move to a near-by private location for a reading of the play. Audiences will remember Hutchinson as the playwright of Forward Flux's The Wedding Gift, seen last season as part of the companys' double feature.

Errol Philander, a black African and local principal, has been sneaking into the library at night for secret assignations with a white librarian, Frieda Joubert. We see them one night as they share their hopes and fears until they are discovered by police; Their love is illegal under apartheid and they are arrested. Fugard writes the second half of the play as a surreal poem - unwrapping the psychological effects of institutional racism and exposing the characters innermost fears.
