Brian Cox returns to Scottish stages in James Graham’s new play, Make It Happen, which explores the Royal Bank of Scotland’s role in the 2008 financial crash. Set in Edinburgh and directed by Andrew Panton, the satirical piece features Cox as Adam Smith, the ghost of fiscal past, and delves into themes of greed and hubris. This world premiere, part of the 2025 Edinburgh International Festival, marks Graham’s continued prominence as a leading playwright and Cox's long-awaited return to live theater in Scotland. The play combines real and imagined characters to provide a humorous yet incisive look at a pivotal moment in economic history.
