San Francisco Playhouse Presents YOU MEAN TO DO ME HARM

Theatre Lunatico presents Steven Dietz's adaptation of Bram Stoker's DRACULA, an aptly hair-raising theatrical adventure for the Halloween season. The dark story is richly told by a diverse, physical theatre ensemble utilizing movement and vocals to create an atmosphere of the bizarre and grotesque. Theatre Lunatico casts women in the key roles of Van Helsing and Renfield, furthering the company's goal to create unique performance opportunities for women.
El Mundo Performs With Jennifer Kampani And Nell Snaidas Next Month

The San Francisco Early Music Society's 2018-19 concert season kicks off the weekend of October 12 with three concerts by El Mundo performing works from their Grammy-nominated album Kingdoms of Castille. Directed by world-renowned guitarist and lutenist Richard Savino, El Mundo will take audiences on a musical journey from Castillian courts and cathedrals, and on to its viceroyalties in Naples, Peru, Mexico and Guatemala, where classical tradition blended with indigenous dances to create a unique Hispanic style that still exists today.

Hillbarn Theatre Conservatory Presents WONDERFUL TOWN This November

Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier theatre company, announced today that youth actors from its Conservatory will present the Tony Award-winning musical, WONDERFUL TOWN. The story follows the adventures and misadventures of two sisters, Ruth and Eileen-one an aspiring writer and the other a dancer-who move from their comfortable hometown in Ohio to Greenwich Village, a bohemian area in New York City to fulfill their dreams. Wonderful Town will perform at Hillbarn Theatre (1285 East Hillsdale Blvd., Foster City) November 2-4, 2018. Montalvo Brings 'Bohemian Rhapsody' And More In 'Ultimate Queen Celebration'

Montalvo Arts Center will present The Ultimate Queen Celebration as part of its 2018-2019 Carriage House Theatre Concert Series. Garnering 13 million views on his YouTube cover of "Somebody to Love," Marc Martel not only sounds dead-on like Freddie Mercury, but also embodies the heart-and-soul Freddie poured into every song. Handpicked by Queen's Roger Taylor and Brian May, Marc Martel will take on lead vocals for this Queen tribute featuring dozens of songs that Queen made famous, including "Killer Queen," "Radio Gaga," "Bohemian Rhapsody," and more. San Francisco Opera Lab Pops-Up At The Great Northern, 9/20

On September 20, SF Opera Lab pops up at The Great Northern in San Francisco for 'Battle of the Divas,' an epic head-to-head vocal battle. The Queen of the Night will officiate this vocal showdown between two teams of dueling divas and divos, with the audience helping her decide who will be triumphant. 'Battle of the Divas' will be hosted by director and San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow Aria Umezawa and feature performances by Adler Fellows including sopranos Sarah Cambidge and Natalie Image, mezzo-soprano Ashley Dixon, countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen, tenor Amitai Pati and pianist John Elam, with surprise additional appearances from San Francisco Opera mainstage artists.

Multi award-winning actor/playwright and Theatre Rhinoceros Artistic Director John Fisher will take audiences on a whirlwind tour of the past with his acclaimed solo show A History of World War II: The D-Day Invasion to the Fall of Berlin at The Marsh San Francisco. Offering a compendium of facts about WWII from the bungled plot to assassinate Hitler ("A mess! Organized by a bunch of loser bureaucrats!") to the big secret - how the Russians won the war for us ("They did all the work!"), this lauded production also surveys the best books on the topic, as well as the most attractive generals who fought the battles and the hottest actors who played them in the movies. Directed by Tom Bruett, this "deeply moving new play" (Courier Journal) is a sweeping tale of love, redemption, and the ongoing fight for international LGBTQ rights. 16-year old Chris just wants to find a safe place to live with the girl she loves- not an easy task in 1999 Uganda. Determined to be together, Chris, the daughter of American missionaries and Adiel, a local girl, meet in the village church to marry in secret. When the war outside the church walls breaks its way into their sanctuary in the form of a wounded child-soldier, all three lives become tied together forever. Cardboard Piano is a riveting testament to the power of the past to shape the future, and the bonds of love, family, and forgiveness.
