In her A.C.T. directorial debut, Artistic Director and Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon-hailed as "the most prolific of directors of Edward Albee's plays" (The Daily Beast)-continues her career-long exploration of American theater's legendary playwright. MacKinnon won the 2013 Tony Award for the Broadway revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, starring Tracy Letts and Amy Morton.

The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra will ring in the New Year with Beethoven's Triple Concerto in C Major for Piano, Violin, Cello and Orchestra, Opus 56. This unusual concerto written in 1804 was a time of unbelievable creativity for Beethoven. During this period, he was composing Symphony No. 3, began the Waldstein Sonata, and made sketches for the Appassionata Sonata and for his opera Leonore (later renamed Fidelio). Beethoven composed his Triple Concerto for his pupil and patron, the Archduke Rudolph of Austria, who was a pianist and amateur composer.

American Conservatory Theater Raises $900,000 At Its Fall Celebration

With the help of celebrated guest artists-including Oscar, Tony, and Emmy Award winner Ellen Burstyn, Tony Award winner BD Wong, and Emmy, Tony, and Golden Globe Award winner Judd Hirsch-American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) raised $900,000 at its Fall Celebration welcoming new Artistic Director Pam MacKinnon and new Executive Director Jennifer Bielstein. Proceeds from the event, which took place on Thursday, November 15 at Ken Fulk's brand-new multi-disciplinary arts space Saint Joseph's Arts Society, support A.C.T.'s diverse and far-reaching artistic, artist training, and education and community programs serving 250,000 Bay Area residents each year.
