Curran Theatre To Host the West Coast Premiere of THE JUNGLE

Following widely-acclaimed, sensation-stirring, and sold-out engagements in London and New York, Carole Shorenstein Hays and Sonia Friedman Productions with Tom Kirdahytoday announced that the West Coast Premiere of the Good Chance Theatre, National Theatre and Young Vic production of THE JUNGLE by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson, will take place at San Francisco's Curran this spring. Under the direction of Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin, the strictly limited engagement begins Tuesday March 26, 2019 and will run through Sunday, May 19, 2019. Tickets for THE JUNGLE are $25-$165 and go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, with presale access available for existing Curran subscribers. Berkeley Symphony Featuring SFCM Musicians - Today

The Berkeley Symphony returns to SFCM on January 11 for a joint concert with SFCM musicians performing the world premiere of Highsmith Award winner Daniel De Togni's (Class of 2018) Tsuioku: On the Internment of Japanese Americans. Additionally, concerto competition winners Nicole Hillis '18 (trombone), Bradley Pupa '19 (guitar), and Boxianzi Ling '20 (violin) will perform works by Tomasi, Ponce, and Mendelssohn. Martin West, music director and principal conductor of San Francisco Ballet, will conduct the concert.

The Marsh San Francisco presents the World Premiere of Border People, the newest solo show by award-winning actor and playwright Dan Hoyle, based on his conversations with immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and border crossers of all kinds. Hoyle began work on the show after the election of Trump in November 2016; as the American immigration debate has grown more heated, Hoyle has worked with increased urgency to complete the work and bring it to the stage. Border People, directed and co-developed by Charlie Varon, will be presented January 11 - February 23, 2019 (press opening: January 25) with performances at 8:00pm Thursdays, 8:00pm Todays, and 5:00pm Saturdays at The Marsh San Francisco, 1062 Valencia St., San Francisco. A love letter to the golden age of Broadway, Bullets Over Broadway The Musical brings the classic musical comedy back with a bang. Loaded with the songs that made the 1920s roar, this splashy musical features Jazz Age standards including 'Let's Misbehave,' ''Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness If I Do,' "Tiger Rag," and 'Up a Lazy River.' In this madcap comedy, a young playwright finally gets his play produced on Broadway, but discovers there's a catch: the mobster putting up the funds wants a vehicle for his ditzy, talent-free girlfriend. Throw in an aging diva, dancing gangsters, and a bevy of beautiful chorus girls, and comedic capers ensue.
