Quantum Dragon Theatre, the San Francisco Bay Area's premiere science-fiction/fantasy theatre company, concludes its second season with the West Coast premiere of Philadelphia playwright Nicholas Wardigo's queer time travel romance play The Do's and Don'ts of Time Travel. This limited-run production, directed by Anna Smith, will open at the Phoenix Theatre- located at 414 Mason Street, San Francisco- on Friday, January 11 at 8 PM.
Free Political Forum To Follow Performance Of FROST/NIXON At TheatreWorks Silicon Valley

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announces a special post-show political forum for its production of the Tony and Olivier Award-nominated drama Frost/Nixon. Following the 2pm performance of Frost/Nixon on Saturday, February 2 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, audiences are invited to discuss the history and current relevance of the Watergate scandal with Dr. Theodore Glasser of Stanford University and Dr. Terri Bimes of University of California Berkeley in a conversation moderated by Cameron Wells, the assistant director of Frost/Nixon. Glasser, a professor emeritus of Communication whose research specializes in media practices and press accountability, and Bimes, a lecturer and Assistant Director of Research for the Institute of Governmental Studies who teaches about the presidency, will bring their unique perspectives to this free political forum, open to audience members and community members.
PlayGround's 25th Season Includes Solo Performance, Readings, and Festival Of New Works

PlayGround continues its 25th season as the Bay Area's leading playwright incubator with more than 75 performances of new short and full-length plays, from developmental staged readings to full productions, through August 2019. The 25th season began at Berkeley Rep with the debut of The 24 Hour Plays-Bay Area in Sep 2018. The majority of the work takes place at Potrero Stage, PlayGround's state-of-the-art center for new plays, reopened in 2017 following a major renovation and renaming. Visit http://playground-sf.org.

The African & African American Performing Arts Coalition and K*Star*Productionshave announced the 15th anniversary edition of the Black Choreographers Festival: Here and Now (BCF), which will take place over four consecutive weekends, February 16 March 10, in San Francisco and Oakland. Following the opening two weekends at Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco, the Festival will move to SAFEhouse Arts at 145 Eddy Street for weekend three, with a final program at Laney College Theater in Oakland, March 9 10. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

On Today, January 25, 2019, NapaShakes celebrates the birthday of Scotland's Bard: Robert Burns, and the music, food and culture of Scotland, with its first ever Burns Night Supper. Guests will savor the words of Scotland's greatest poet (and a bit of Shakespeare's Macbeth) accompanied by bagpipes and a lively Ceilidh band, plus engaging performances by two acclaimed actors from Britain and Broadway: Jane Carr and Victor Talmadge. The evening includes a delicious Napa Valley-style feast with traditional haggis (meat or vegetarian), neeps and tatties, and other delights in the candle-lit Gallery of St. Helena's Brasswood Napa Valley. The event is for age 21 and older, and attendees are welcome (but not required) to wear kilts and other traditional attire.

Impeaching America is an allegorical political satire about AMERICA who is confused, frustrated, disillusioned and just plain tired.  His solution is to impeach himself.  He wants to quit, but he wants to quit with Honor and with the Due Process as provided for within his document of creation: the Constitution.  He initiates the proceeding by selecting a Bi-Bunal (he wanted to get three, but for many reasons, no one else wanted to do it) consisting of Godd and Satann to determine his/our fate.  He is defended by three attorneys: a liberal, a conservative and a voice of reason.

Hope Mohr Dance (HMD) today announced its 2019 Bridge Project, titled SIGNALS FROM THE WEST: BAY AREA ARTISTS IN CONVERSATION WITH MERCE CUNNINGHAM AT 100, a collaboration with the Merce Cunningham Trust, ODC Theater and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)'s Open Space as part of the international Merce Cunningham Centennial.
